Optical Imaging is a system that interacts with personal computer software programs. It allows the police department to scan, display, print, or route a facsimile image of any report from work sites within the department. Optical Imaging stores, retrieves, and reproduces an image of the original police report in a matter of seconds. Rather than having to store an original report on paper in a file folder, Optical Imaging puts thousands of documents on an optical disk for future retrieval. The department has one part-time police clerk assigned exclusively to the Optical Imaging program. |
