The Auxiliary Services Bureau is an essential part of the Police Department “team” as it works hard to ensure that field personnel and detectives have an effective support staff behind them who are essential to fulfilling various demanding duties to the Buena Park community. A partial list of the essential functions provided by the men and women of Auxiliary Services includes: operation of a full-time type-1 jail facility, providing ongoing training for department personnel, promoting community relations, facilitating crime prevention programs, researching new technology, and maintaining current technological systems. In addition, the Bureau is responsible for creating an open-line of communication with various media outlets, locating requested information on subjects from a variety of criminal databases, processing reports, preserving confidential records, preparing reports for review by the District Attorney’s Office, purchasing goods and services, securing property and evidence, and facility maintenance.
