School Resource Officer Program

In July of 1994, the Fullerton Union High School District and the Buena Park Police Department agreed to institute the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program. The program provides uniformed police officers on the Buena Park High School campus during school hours. The SRO Program is designed to provide students and faculty a feeling of security while on campus, as well as an opportunity to interact with members of the police department on a daily basis.

The presence of a uniformed police officer also provides a deterrent to criminal activity by discouraging unwanted and undesirable visitors on the school grounds or in the surrounding area.

In addition, officers of the SRO Program teach an alcohol and drug “Driving-Under-the-Influence” course to all junior and senior students. SRO’s are available to all students and faculty alike in order to offer advice, guidance and friendship.

Each officer assigned to the SRO Program continues to enjoy an excellent reputation and partnership with the Buena Park High School students and faculty members.
